Being centrally located, Kopar Khairane has emerged as the closest alternative to Vashi.

Kopar Khairane, once a quaint suburb has now come into limelight due to speedy development of both residential and commercial sectors. Conveniently connected it is one of the promising places of Navi Mumbai. Divided into 16 sectors, a large number of residential areas have come up here. With the kind of changes it has witnessed over the years, Kopar Khairane is now being preferred an alternative to Navi Mumbai's most developed node, Vashi.

Due to the development of surrounding areas like Airoli, Mahape and Turbhe as industrial zones, a lot of working crowd is attracted towards Kopar Khairane. Sectors 14 and 20 have developed largely while a lot of development is seen in sector 11 and 12. With many new builders expanding their projects here, it has helped to have steady growth in infrastructure too.

Kopar Khairane is the fourth railway station on the Thane-Turbhe-Nerul/Vashi railway line. Connectivity has improved greatly due to increased frequency of trains. In addition, the newly started AC buses pass through Kopar Khairane and have brought a refreshing change from the old buses. The presence of Dhirubhai Ambani Knowledge City (DAKC) and major chemical industries along the Thane-Belapur belt apart from the mushrooming educational institutes, like medical and engineering colleges, has speeded the development here.

Also located closely is Millennium Business Park (MBP) which houses software consulting companies such as Patni Computer Systems, Mastek Ltd, L&T Infotech, L&T Control and Automation Unit, 3Di Systems, Hexaware and Object Edge India etc.
