MHADA identifies 82 highly dangerous buildings in Mumbai city island

The state housing board's repair wing has classified 82 old cessed buildings in the island city as highly dangerous in its pre-monsoon survey and has begun moving occupants out. The structures house about 2,736 occupants across residential and commercial units.

Notices have gone to residential occupants, with transit accommodation required for around 2,100 people. Several of the buildings had been flagged as highly dangerous in the previous year's survey as well, underscoring the recurring monsoon-season risk in the old housing stock.
